Our Story

A formulator’s eye, a mother’s heart

I never planned to start a skincare brand. I spent years formulating in pharmaceuticals, trained to ask one question above all else: does this actually work, and why?

That question followed me home

  • When my children developed eczema as toddlers, I looked at the products on shelves andcouldn’t make sense of them — petrochemicals, silicones, fragrance blends that irritatedmore than they soothed. So I started formulating for my own family, out of necessity ratherthan ambition.
  • That search led me into homeopathy and herbalism, studying how skin actually heals ratherthan how to mask the symptoms when it doesn’t.

The turning point

When my son was born, by six months his skin was covered in patches that nothing seemed to touch. We tried product after product. Nothing worked — until I stopped reaching for
what was on the shelf and started applying everything I’d learned about balance instead of intensity.

No harsh essential oils. No heavy fragrance. Formulas gentle enough for open, broken skin, but built with real, active ingredients that support the skin’s own ability to repair itself.

Heirloom Secret today

That formula — in every sense of the word — became Heirloom Secret. What started as one mother solving one problem has now reached over 10,000 households in two years.

We’re naturally derived at heart, but modern in approach. Traditional herbalism and homeopathy gave us our principles; pharmaceutical-grade formulation gives us the precision and consistency to make those principles work, batch after batch. It’s not “old
world” versus “new world” — it’s both, working together.

I still formulate every product with the same question I started with: not “does this sell,” but “does this actually work, and is it gentle enough for the skin that needs it most."
