A process built on three disciplines

Most skincare brands start with a trend. We started with a problem — eczema that wouldn’t
respond to anything on the market — and built a process to solve it properly.

1

Understand the skin, not just the symptom

Before formulating anything, we look at why skin reacts the way it does — barrier function, inflammation triggers, moisture retention — drawing on pharmaceutical training to understand the skin’s biology rather than guessing at fixes.
2

Apply homeopathic principles

Homeopathy taught us to think in terms of balance rather than force. Instead of formulating to overpower a symptom, we formulate to support the skin’s own ability to recover. This is why our products avoid harsh actives that fight the skin rather than work with it.
3

Source from herbalism, not trend lists

We draw on traditional herbal ingredients with a long history of skin use, chosen for compatibility rather than marketing appeal. Every botanical is selected for a specific function in the formula, not added because it’s popular.
4

Formulate for the most sensitive skin first

Every product is developed with sensitive, broken, or eczema-prone skin as the benchmark. If a formula isn’t gentle enough for compromised skin, it doesn’t move forward — regardless of how it performs on healthy skin.
5

Test on real skin, not just lab criteria

Our earliest formulas were tested on my own children. That standard hasn’t changed — we develop and refine every product the way you’d expect from someone formulating for their own family, because that’s exactly how we started.
6

Keep formulas simple

No unnecessary fragrance, no filler ingredients, no padding the ingredient list for appearance. Every ingredient in a Heirloom Secret product is there for a reason. This process hasn’t changed since the day Heirloom Secret began — it’s just been refined, batch after batch, by feedback from real families using it.
